I am honored and excited to be part of the FCS development team – as a surgeon and palliative care doctor, I care a great deal about how surgeons communicate.  Surgical decision-making is often complicated and intense, so we need to be able to communicate empathically, efficiently, and well with our patients and their families.  I believe FCS is a big step in the right direction to equip our surgical trainees to do just that!  Collaborating with this unique group of experts in these fields has been my greatest joy in my young career thus far!
